Humans behind the automation
A2X was founded in 2014 by Paul and Ashley, early ecommerce entrepreneurs who’d built large, global, multi-channel businesses. They knew firsthand how complex accounting for ecommerce payouts could become at scale, and built A2X to solve it. Their bookkeeper was the first person to use it.
We’ve been building A2X alongside accountants and bookkeepers ever since. Twelve years of working through the details together is a lot of edge cases, and it’s why accountants call A2X the gold standard.

Evans has a background in financial software development, spanning banking and ecommerce accounting. Before A2X, he was the lead developer of a lending pricing tool at ING.

Geoffrey has a decade of experience in cloud accounting. Before joining A2X, he led marketing at Hubdoc, which was acquired by Xero in 2018, and product marketing at Xero.
Iona Bird
Head of People
Iona is an expert ecommerce accountant with a background in corporate accounting. Her experience at A2X includes leading customer success and the company’s global people function.
Matt Bunston
Head of Sales
Matt has more than a decade of experience in cloud accounting. Before joining A2X, he led Hubdoc’s Australian business, working closely with accounting and bookkeeping firms as its country manager.
Katie LeMoine
Head of Customer Success
Katie is a chartered professional accountant with a background in public practice and finance. Before joining A2X, she worked as an accounting manager at Xen Accounting.
Jamie McDonald
CEO
Jamie co-founded Hubdoc, the document collection and data capture software acquired by Xero in 2018. He went on to lead the development of Xero’s core accounting products before joining A2X.
Stephen Smith
Head of Product
Stephen co-founded FieldChat, where he led product before the company was acquired by Autodesk. He previously co-founded Sparkroom, where he led product management.
