Sales Tax Apps
Companies start using Sales Tax Apps to automate tracking of:
- Sales and other charges to customers
- Sales Thresholds
- Sales Tax liabilities
- Sales Tax Returns and Filings
There are tons of sales tax apps that integrate with Amazon and Shopify and yet only some integrate with Xero, QuickBooks Online or Sage.
Their numbers raise the question:
How important is it to integrate tax apps with accounting apps?

Which of these data integration points duplicate what A2X can provide?
Invoices. A2X moves Sales and other revenue-related totals by settlement period into Xero/QuickBooks. These can be mapped to tax rates if the basis for determining the rate is in the settlement data. Even if tax rates cannot be mapped, sales tax liabilities are recorded through the settlements like Avalara does through Invoices.
What is the difference and benefit in how A2X does it?
A2X reduces the amount of data entry into Xero/QuickBooks. The A2X entry itself makes it very easy to reconcile the Amazon/Shopify deposit while also recording all sales and fees for the settlement period. Avalara importing 100's and 1000's of invoices with sales tax does not help with reconciling the Amazon/Shopify deposit.
What are the options for turning any of these integration points off?
Simply just don't integrate Avalara with Xero/QuickBooks. Avalara can function at a high value for users without dumping loads of invoices into Xero/QuickBooks Online just to increase the tax liability.
Do you lose any automation by turning them off?
None.

It saves on reconciling multiple sales orders and manual entry of other fees and transactions.
What are the options for turning any of these integration points off?
None. To get the best out of using Quaderno and A2X, it is best to not integrate Quaderno with Xero.
