Announcing Shopify Cost Sync: Automating SKU Costs in A2X

Keeping track of SKU costs is a critical part of ensuring accurate financial reporting, but up until now, it’s also been a manual process. Many of you have asked for a simpler solution, and we’ve listened.

We’re excited to introduce Shopify Cost Sync, a new feature in A2X that directly integrates with Shopify to automatically pull SKU costs.

No more exporting and importing cost data – A2X will now handle it for you, streamlining the SKU cost management process and removing the hassle of double-handling costs.

Why Shopify Cost Sync?

Many Shopify sellers track their SKU costs directly in Shopify, but without an automatic integration with A2X, this created extra work: sellers had to manually export the cost data and re-enter it into A2X.

That’s why we built Shopify Cost Sync – to automate this process, eliminate inefficiencies, and help you save valuable time.

With this new integration, A2X will pull your SKU costs from Shopify and use them to accurately calculate your Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). In addition to efficient SKU cost management, Shopify Cost Sync also ensures that your COGS reporting in A2X is as accurate as possible, meaning you can trust the numbers when reconciling your Shopify payouts.

Key features of the Shopify Cost Sync

• Automated cost import: A2X will now pull your SKU costs directly from Shopify, removing the need to manually enter this data.
• COGS integration: A2X will create COGS entries in your general ledger (GL), crediting your inventory asset account and debiting your COGS expense account, ensuring your financials are always up to date.
• Daily sync: Costs will be automatically synced with Shopify once daily, but you have the option to manually re-sync anytime you need.
• Accurate sales reconciliation: Having your SKU costs up to date allows A2X to create more accurate sales entries, enabling effortless Shopify payout reconciliation.
• Flexible updates: If any SKU costs need to be updated or are missing, you can still adjust them manually within A2X, giving you full control over your data.

Get early access: Beta release starting October 1, 2024

The Shopify Cost Sync integration will be available in Beta starting October 1, 2024. Existing A2X users can access it by navigating to the ‘Costs’ tab and selecting ‘Shopify’.
